State Park Marina Expansion Uses MOAA Member's Products

The state of Tennessee is expanding its marina at Pickwick Landing State Park and installing docks by MOAA member Atlantic-Meeco of McAlester, Oklahoma. Pickwick Landing State Park is located about 90 miles east of Memphis on the Tennessee River.

In order to accommodate a rising influx of visiting boaters, Pickwick Landing State Park has embraced a $1.8 million state project - the second phase of the project includes replacing 56 outdated slips with fourteen 40' , twenty-eight 48' and 56' covered slips.

The Park is installing Atlantic-Meeco's unique Permacase floats, which contain marine-bonded, low-absorption polystyrene. The floats are approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and resist damage caused by marine life and petroleum products. The Super Span roof system, utilizing one of the strongest roof panels in the industry, is also being used. Slips are more open and appealing because fewer roof columns are needed for support.

The decking will have removable panels made of Atlantic-Meeco's popular rock aggregate finish. The long-lasting finish ensures safe footing for visitors. Finally, driven steel piling is being used for anchoring.

David LaGasse of LCI expressed that, "We are very pleased with Atlantic-Meeco's services and they have met scheduling and delivery times consistently." He added, "They have lived up to everything I expected from them and their pricing is very competitive."
