Permacase Floats - 10 Year Guarantee

Our Permacase Floats have set the standard for encased flotation since 1979. The one-piece rotationally molded shell has a solid core polystyrene block molded inside creating a superior float. Buoyancy is not affected even if the shell is punctured! Heavy duty attachment points are provided on all sides of the floats, while only two opposing sides need be attached. This design flexibility allows for bolting in either of two directions. The polyethylene shell is pigmented black for maximum resistance to ultraviolet light. Permacase Floats are also resistant to damage from petroleum products, animals, marine life, and impact.

Our rotational molding process creates floats with seamless shells and uniform wall thickness. Polyethylene powder is placed in custom molds and heated at high temperatures and then cooled while rotating to form a hollow, seamless shell. The shell is filled with marine grade, fire-resistant polystyrene beads and then placed in a heavy duty steel frame. Pressurized steam is injected inside the shell causing the polystyrene beads to expand, forming a solid block of flotation inside the shell. After cooling, all steam holes are plugged, forming a water tight shell.

Specifications:

1. Flotation shall consist of premolded polyethylene shell with foamed
in place polystyrene flotation. Flotation units shall be of seamless,
one-piece, rotational molded structure.

2. Medium Density Polyethylene Float
All medium density polyethylene products shall meet the following standards:

3. The polyethylene flotation containers shall be completely filled
with modified polystyrene expanded in place (0.9 lb./CF density.) Water
absorption shall not exceed five percent by volume.

4. Flotation units shall be firmly through-bolted to the bottom of the
frame with a minimum of six bolts.

5. Flotation units shall be of fire resistant construction.
